“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

In palliative care, grief and bereavement are not separate from the clinical journey - they are woven through every interaction we have with patients and families. We walk with people as they face loss, uncertainty, and the profound questions that emerge near the end of life.

This webinar will consider how holistic, compassionate care can support patients and families with clinical skill and spiritual sensitivity—and how we, as nurses, can draw on our own faith to sustain us in this sacred work.

You’re invited to a FREE 1.5 hour session that considers compassionate care to support patients and families through grief and loss. It covers:

    • Understanding Grief and Bereavement in the Palliative context
    • Walking with Patients and Families through Loss
    • The sacred work of self-care
    • Integrating faith and professional practice

Our discussion will be facilitated by Decima Jones, a retired nurse with a wealth of experience in palliative care.

We will share information, discussion and encouragement for your practice in Faith Community Care / Faith Community Nursing.

“Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord." Psalm 102:16

Legacy is more than a list of belongings - it is the story a person leaves behind. In palliative and aged care, many patients long to be remembered, to pass on something meaningful, or simply to know their life mattered.

This webinar will explore how we can support patients and families as they create, leave, or preserve a legacy. We will consider practical ways to help people express their gifts; compassionate approaches for those who have no tangible items to remember a loved one; and sensitive strategies for older adults entering aged care.

You’re invited to a FREE 1.5 hour discussion that considers compassionate care to support patients and families through grief and loss, helping them create lasting legacies and cherished memories that endure across generations. It covers:

    • Creative ways to Honour a Life and Leave a Legacy
    • Supporting Families Across Generations
    • Legacy-Making when Possessions are Limited
    • Guiding Families with Compassion, Faith, and Practical Tools
    •  Integrating Scripture and Spiritual Reflection in Legacy Work

Our discussion will be facilitated by Decima Jones, a retired nurse with a wealth of experience in palliative care.

We will share information followed by open Q&A discussion and encouragement for your practice in Faith Community Care / Faith Community Nursing.
