Member benefits AFCNA membership is open to Christian people who embrace AFCNA’s vision, mission and purpose of facilitating quality, community care via our faith communities. Our current members come from nursing, allied health and medical professionals, faith-based service providers in aged care, disability care, community care, health care, schools and churches. We also welcome members with lived experience, interested citizens, students, academics, policymakers who bring their unique knowledge and experience to our shared purpose. 10 Great Reasons to Be a Member1. Educational: You have access to quality internationally recognised introductory, foundational, and ongoing education and professional development for Faith Community Care and Faith Community Nursing via AFCNA’s COURSES and WEB WORKSHOPS. 3. Discounts: You receive FREE or REDUCED REGISTRATION fees at all AFCNA sponsored training events, conferences, resources and continuing education. 4. AFCNA keeps members in touch with each other and emerging issues relevant to Faith Community Care through EXPLORE events, e-newsletters, email updates, articles, resources on our web sites www.afcna.org.au and www.faithhopehealth.org.au. Our information keeps you up to date, saves you time, and enables you to disseminate quality information to people in your sphere of influence. 6. Networking: You have many opportunities to network with other Christians interested in Faith Community Care and Faith Community Nursing via our COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE which enables you to connect with others in your region, build your contacts, share ideas and best practice, brainstorm solutions to issues of concern, encourage one another and share in prayer (if desired). 7. Affiliation: Faith Community Nurses receive affiliation with your PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION in this region. AFCNA is affiliated with like-minded national and international networks of Faith Community Nurses and the Council of National Nursing and Midwifery Organisations in Australia with representation on these key groups. 8. Empowerment: You can CONTRIBUTE to AFCNA’s advocacy and empowerment work within Christian denominations, churches and faith communities, which is centred on assuring that quality, holistic care is given to our most vulnerable community members. 9.
