The Australian Faith Community Nurses Association Incorporated is winding up as an Australian registered body. We will close all operations effective 31st March 2026. We thank you for your ongoing support and trust you will join us in the next chapter as we participate in the larger global network of the Spiritual Care Association  a global multidisciplinary association that advances spiritual care.  

AFCNA is pleased to provide you with resources and education to support your work/ministry as you seek to promote ‘abundant life’ in every person. We can assist you to understand and set up Faith Community Care in your local church and commence the role of a Faith Community Nurse.

Health and Pastoral Care Ministry

Many of today’s Christian churches continue to serve one another via pastoral care of ill, injured, bereaved, or distressed people. Pastoral care provides the church’s reactive responses which support people in times of acute need or crisis. When we add a Health focus to pastoral care we enable a more proactive approach that takes a whole-of-life perspective to promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities across the continuum of life from birth to death.
