Prayers March 2025

Pray for lasting and just peace in conflict zones On checking the Geneva Academy’s website there are 110 armed conflict zones in our world at present. 45 In the Middle east and North Africa In and 35 in Africa, 21 in Asia, 7 in Europe, 6 in Latin America. Pray for protection from persecution for sisters and brothers in Christ. This 2024 data from the UK Parliament makes a sad and sobering read:
North Korea, Somalia, Libya, Eritrea, and Yemen have the highest rates of reported persecution against Christians LORD Jesus you are our advocate before the LORD GOD. We ask you to bring safety, refuge, protections and peace to our world. We ask that Satan be bound and silenced and that the good news of the Prince of Peace will bring a flood of compassion, love, and transformation from evil to good across the world. We ask for your hand of protection and peace on our family across the world. We want to be advocates for compassionate love, care, peace and shalom wherever you have placed us. Let us serve everyone just as if we were serving you LORD. Equip us and empower us with your Spirit, and enable us to be your heart, be your hands, be your feet, and have your mind as we seek to reflect Jesus’ and God’s love within our faith communities and the communities we serve. let us be people of peace, people of the way, people of life, people who advocate shalom – whole health, harmony, safety, prosperity and an end to conflict between people. In the precious name of our LORD Jesus Christ, Amen |
Prayers February 2025
- Give thanks for the freedom to share Jesus love via our Christian faith communities (churches, schools, community care agencies, and health services) in 2025!
- Give thanks for vision and clarity at our planning meeting. Pray for your AFCNA Board - as facilitate the Lord’s command to Love our neighbour. Pray for God’s vision, wisdom, guidance and provision.
- Give thanks for our new website. Pray it will have impact for God’s kingdom to come, as we follow God’s command to love one another.
- Intercede for God to raise more people in churches to seek helpful ways to love our neighbour and care for our most vulnerable members.
- Intercede for faith communities to equip their people for effective and compassionate Faith Community Care
- Intercede for AFCNA’s finances and ask God to bring more committed people to help us meet commitments and create future plans.
- Pray for community members to undertake our ‘Compassionate Care for One Another’ online course.
- Pray for nurses to join our online ‘Principles and Practice of Faith Community Nursing’ course in 2025
- Pray for the ‘Parish Nursing World Forum Symposium’ to be held in June 2025 in Dundee, Scotland – planning, speakers, registrants… the theme
- Pray for Faith Community Nursing globally – that this contemporary iteration of the biblical deacon/deaconess role will flourish, and not be hindered by increasing regulatory and professional demands.
- Pray for nurses and health care workers in difficult circumstances across the globe – many are serving in war and conflict zones, natural disaster regions, and areas of huge contemporary challenges including addiction, family violence, mental illness, gendered health issues, homelessness, prison ministries, disability, chronic conditions, inequity, poverty, racism … Pray that we would do what the LORD requires of us (Micah 6:8)
- Prayer requests from FCN Pam D’Andre serving with Family Table in Ukraine:
Ø Pray for T – her volunteer chaplain who has been called up for active military duty.
Ø Pray for S and his growing responsibilities in The Family Table Ukraine.
Ø Pray for their Chaplain training to service military personnel to be held in March 25-28.
Ø Pray for Ukraine during the peace negotiations. Pray the decisions will provide a safe, secure future for Ukraine.
LORD help us to serve everyone just as if we were serving you. Equip us and empower us with your Spirit, and enable us to be your heart, be your hands, be your feet, and have your mind as we seek to reflect Jesus’ and God’s love within our faith communities and the communities we serve.

Prayers January 2025
- Give thanks for new beginning in 2025! Thank the LORD for his grace and mercy.
- Pray for AFCNA Board - ask the Lord for his vision, wisdom, and guidance as we plan, lead, guide, grow and steward AFCNA’s mission and ministry.
- Give thanks for our new website created by ‘We are Shift’. Pray it will be a tool of great impact for our shared vision.
- Intercede for God to raise more people and churches to seek new ways to love our neighbours and compassionately care for our most vulnerable community members.
- Intercede for faith communities (churches, schools, age care services, community services etc.) to equip their people for effective and compassionate Faith Community Care

- Give thanks for your enthusiastic AFCNA Board and ask the Lord for his vision, wisdom, and guidance as we seek to lead and grow AFCNA’s ministry
- Pray for more faith communities (churches, schools, age care services, community services etc.) wanting to equip their people for effective and compassionate faith community care
- Pray for finances to enable AFCNA to meet immediate commitments and plan for the future
- Pray for a large increase in financial members and donors to partner with AFCNA
- Pray for Nurses to join our ‘Principles and Practice of Faith Community Nursing’ course 2025
- Pray the new AFCNA website will facilitate communication and the Lord will new opportunities
- Pray for our Faith Community Nursing organisations globally - this contemporary iteration of the biblical deacon/deaconess role will be abundantly blessed by the LORD and not hindered by regulatory and professional demands.
- Pray for nurses and health care workers in difficult circumstances across the globe – many are serving in conflict zones, areas of natural disaster, and areas where there is great contemporary challenge including addiction, prison, family violence, gendered health issues, homelessness, violence, inequity, poverty… LORD help us to serve all as you would.

Your prayer and support is needed for people living in war zones |
Pray for the Middle East: This month is it one year since life changed for people living in Israel and Gaza. Amidst the rubble in Gaza are several hundred thousand Palestinian Christians who have become homeless. Rami, Sana and their two children were part of their Christian Church in Gaza. They are one family of a few hundred Christians and Muslim families that have been granted temporary visas to leave Gaza and offered safe passage to resettle in Australia. Their local church is supporting them and so is Samaritan’s Purse Australia. Your faith community can participate in supporting people like Rami and Sana. Pam Dandre our Faith Community Nurse international representative has asked for prayer for ability to sleep so she can function well amidst ongoing shelling. She has also asked for prayer for many workers in her mission who are helping in hospitals as chaplains. Pam asked for specific prayer for her ministry volunteer chaplain who has been called up for active duty in the Ukrainian army. He is serving in Sumy, a city close to the Russian border and it is experiencing many hits every day and he says things are very hard there. Pam is in touch with his parents will support them as they wait and pray. She asks us to continue to pray for Christian young men on the front line. Let’s keep praying for peace in the region, for the leaders and those in positions of power to be people of peace.
