An opportunity to meet with peers, interact, share ideas, communicate concerns, celebrate wins, encourage colleagues and pray for one another...

Out theme is 'Compassionate care for people who experience loneliness and isolation?'

Our LORD is relational. God wants a life-giving and vibrant relationship with us. He created us to live and be in relationship with him, and with other people - our family, friends, faith community, and His God’s wonderful creation. Yet we are living increasingly socially isolated lives and this is contributing to an epidemic of loneliness,  and consequent illness and suffering.

Loneliness and social isolation are BIG risk factors for illnesses such as dementia, mental health disorders, autoimmune diseases, and heart disease. The risk of early death is comparable with smoking and alcohol consumption, and exceeds the early mortality risk of physical inactivity and obesity! It begs the question, would some of today’s personal and community health outcomes be improved by facilitating positive social relationships in children and adults?

We will discuss:

o             What impacts are evident from loneliness?

o             Who is lonely in our community and why?

o             What could belonging to an inclusive faith community look like?

We will share some information on loneliness followed by open Q&A discussion and encouragement for your practice in faith community care.

Our community of practice is a group of Christians who share a passion for Faith Community Care, Faith Community Nursing and Holistic Health.

  • We share information about our practice
